Did you know that the Terrebonne High building does not sit on a concrete slab. Instead it rests on a series of concrete pilings several inches above the ground. The floor itself is of steel reinforced concrete. The brick walls, however, which are 16 inches thick, rest on a concrete footing at ground level. The building was completed in 1940 and was built under the Public Works Administration established by the administration of Franklin D Roosevelt.
